March already!

Time seriously flies.
anyway, I'm sure we are all super busy now.

Lord, as I seek Your guidance for the day,
I find my thoughts unyielding, confusion crowds my way.
But then when I bow to you, the challenges You guide me through
Your promises are ever new, I claim them for today

Your will cannot lead me where Your grace will not keep me
Your hand will protect me, I rest in Your care
Your eyes will watch over me, Your love will forgive me
And when I am faltering, I still will find you there

Hopefully this song will serve as an encouragement to us. Remember, God's grace is all-sufficient! Thank God for that.

CNY!

Hello teenz! CNY has just passed and the mundane school life continues on. It's nearly time to bid January farewell and welcome in February! How time flies. Well anyway, Sunday is coming up and it is definitely a very blessed day for us to be able to take a break and rest from the busyness of school life and all. This Sunday, we will also be going to Lentor to bainian! Do come and be a blessing to the old folks there by showing God's love to them through your testimony!

Anyway, I'm sure some of us may be feeling stressed in school, but always remember to cast your every care on Him. (1 Peter 5:7) The comm will be praying for you all! If you have any problems or if you simply want a listening ear, don't hesitate to approach me or any of the comm members! Hahahah this sounds like some Twinkle Friend advert. But yeah, seriously, I'd be more than happy to lend you a listening ear.

So, blessed Lunar New Year to one and all, and may we seek to keep close to God through this whole year faithfully and consistently!

SCHOOL!

hello everyone!
for most of us, school will be starting tomorrow!
anyone excited? I am :)
anyway, with the starting of school, it will also be the start of many new trials and temptations in the new year ahead! want to know a way to overcome them? remember to retreat to your "holy place" everyday! To be still and know that God is God, will really help us to put our faith and trust in Him more and more!

There is a holy place, far from my rapid pace
Where I seek face-to-face, my God and King
I must go everyday, and that without delay
To read His Word and pray, and praises bring

The Word of God will light the darkest path
Its treasures flow with strength anew
Help me to hide, Your Word within my heart
Take this hour, make me more like You!

Remember also to be a good testimony in school! Do your best - for the glory of God alone!

HELLO NEW SCHOOL TERM! :)

I'm not really sure if anyone actually reads this, but oh well. :)

School has just started! We face the same old battles everyday now, struggling as we go along. But do we really need to struggle? NO WE DON'T! All we have to do is to really pray! Remember, prayer helps to remind you of your priorities and it also reminds you daily of God's goodness and mercy to you! :) But we must always pray in accordance to God's will! And how do we find out God's will? THE BIBLE. Simple enough? Hahaha I'm sure.

Anyway, we are all in this same battle together so don't give up! Remember, Hebrews 12:1-2!! Don't give up and don't be discouraged! Joshua 1:9! God promises to always be there for us. It's whether we choose to stay close to His side or not. But don't forget that our Heavenly Father will always be patiently and lovingly waiting for us to return if we ever stray. Praise God for such mercy and love! :)

Good Friday!

Dearest Teenz!
Good Friday and Easter Sunday have just passed, Praise the Lord.
Truly, we must remind ourselves of God's grace and mercy toward us every single day!
"This is a faithful saying, and worthy of all acceptation, that Christ Jesus came into the world to save sinners; of whom I am chief. [1 Timothy 1:15]" Think about it: We didn't deserve to be saved, yet Jesus left heaven's glory to die for us. What marvellous love! "Herein is love, not that we loved God, but that he loved us, and sent his Son to be the propitiation for our sins [1 John 4:10]"
So, never forget!

Also, camp is coming up and I'm sure it will be very edifying towards us all so do make an effort to come!
Keep trusting God!

busy school days :)

Hello teenz!
School has been tough, but don't give up! Always remember that being a student also serves as a testimony for Christ and that the Bible tells us, "Whether therefore ye eat, or drink, or whatsoever ye do, do all to the glory of God. [1 Corinthians 10:31]" So keep working hard!
Sometimes we might feel so pressured and tired of everything that is going around and might even feel, "hey, I can't possibly take this any longer. I can't keep doing my best for God". But refer to Isaiah 40:31.
"But they that wait upon the Lord shall renew their strength; they shall mount up with wings as eagles; they shall run, and not be weary; and they shall walk and not faint." If the source of our strength is from the Lord, we can be sure that He will sustain us through difficult times.

Keep praying and never stop!
Burdens are lifted at Calvary, Jesus is very near.

What we do at Lentor/Teenz Retreat/YPC?

Lentor
Every 2nd Sunday of the month, the teenz will go to the Lentor to minister to the elderly folks. We mostly spend time talking to them, do some simple Arts&Crafts, sing some hymns for them (during seasons like Christmas etc) or play some ball games with them. And we'll usually pray that the Lord may open the residents' hearts to the Gospel.

Teenz Retreat
The Teenz Retreat is held on the third Sunday of the month at a teen’s home. There will be a time of singspiration where the Retreat Comm will get a teen to chair it, then a message, followed by a time of fellowship with (yummy) refreshments and then the girls and guys will split and have a time of prayer and sharing which the discussion leader will lead in.
During the time of prayer, prayer slips will be passed around (the slips that were given out during teenz class to write out your prayer requests) so that we may be able to pray for one another. Then we will discuss a few questions related to the message earlier on and if there is still enough time, we'll play some games before heading back church.

Young People's Choir (YPC)
The Young People's Choir, consist of Teenz and YFers (age 13-25) who sing during special events such as Good Friday services, the church Anniversary and Christmas services. There will first be a short period of exhortation, followed by warm ups, then we break into our different sections (Sop, Alto, Tenor, Bass) and lastly, we'll combine and practise together.

"Let no man despise thy youth; but be thou an example of the believers, in word, in conversation, in charity, in spirit, in faith, in purity." 1 Timothy 4:12

The Teenz Comm!

The Teenz Committee (comm for short) is made up of Teenz serving God in various positions ("portfolios").

The Evangelical Committee
Duties & Aims:
•Tell others of the gospel message, to fellow teens, strangers, or to even unsaved friends
•Teach others how to share the gospel and to share their experiences and lessons
•To bring teens closer to Christ so that they will in time have a passion for souls and show it through their testimony

The Directory Committee
Imagine you need to call someone from Teenz but you don't have his telephone number. What do you do? With the Directory contact cards, everyone's phone numbers are all in your pocket. There's also an A-4 size directory also shows everybody's contact details including their e-mails, birthdays, schools, etc.

The Care Committee
The welcoming committee will be the first bunch of people who reach out to the newcomer, and ensures s/he feels right at home. The welcome committee tells the newbie:
•What goes on in Teenz
•What classes we have
•What's a Teenz Retreat
•What we do during YPC practices
Each newcomer will also be given a teenz card, which has all the information about teenz on it. The Care Comm makes sure everyone feels welcome and at home at teenz!

The Retreat Committee
Things done in the Retreat Comm include:
•Find a host & venue for the retreat each month
(do try to volunteer to host in your house!)
•Booking a bus to fetch Teenz to and from church
•Placing an announcement in the church weekly so that parents can be informed as to the details of the retreat
•Buying a cake for the mini birthday celebration for people born in the particular month
•Finding a fellow teen to chair for singspiration before the message
•Finding discussion leaders to discuss about the topic after the message
The Comm would also give a small present to everyone during the month of his/her birthday.
All teens are strongly encouraged to join us for a blessed time of fellowship and spiritual feeding.

"Not forsaking the assembling of ourselves together, as the manner of some is; but exhorting one another: and so much more, as ye see the day approaching" Hebrews 10:25 (KJV)
